When Jake's avatar and Neytiri have sex, you see only a small amount of alien petting. After all, it's a movie about blue creatures, not a blue movie. But there was a larger sex scene that was filmed but then cut, and Zoe Saldana hints that it had something to do with syncing the two participants' ponytails. Of course, if the Na'vi use hair-syncing both for sex and to communicate with everything else on Pandora, you get some pretty squicky issues. Still, Zoe Saldana says, "We had a lot of giggles there" during filming.

"He puts his face close to hers. She rubs her cheek against
his. He kisses her on the mouth. They explore each other.
Then she pulls back, eyes sparkling.
NEYTIRI
Kissing is very good. But we have
something better.
She pulls him down until they are kneeling, facing each other
on the faintly glowing moss.
Neytiri takes the end of her queue and raises it. Jake does
the same, with trembling anticipation. The tendrils at the
ends move with a life of their own, straining to be joined.
MACRO SHOT -- The tendrils INTERTWINE with gentle
undulations.
JAKE rocks with the direct contact between his nervous system
and hers. The ultimate intimacy.
They come together into a kiss and sink down on the bed of
moss, and ripples of light spread out around them.
THE WILLOWS sway, without wind, and the night is alive with
pulsing energy as we DISSOLVE TO --
LATER. She is collapsed across his chest. Spent. He
strokes her face tenderly.
JAKE
Neytiri, you know my real body is far
away, sleeping.
She raises up, placing her fingertips to his chest --
NEYTIRI
This body is real.
(she touches his forehead)
This spirit is real.
Her eyes are luminous, honest, infinitely deep.
NEYTIRI
When I was first your teacher, I hated
all Sky People. But you have also taught

(whispering)

It also contains some interesting other scenes, so worth having a closer look at it. Cannot wait to see the dvd!!!

Hello there! Hope i'm not bothering you, yesterday I just joined the Avatar community in the web and following comments I eventually ended up in your blog, which i liked :) I read some other people's comments in the web but they don't all look as fans really hehe

About this post, aye. when i saw the film it really did look as sth similar to what it says in the book would happen. After all, if they use their tendrils with many creatures, why not between themselves right? Do u think they'll take long to release the dvd?

I was expecting this when seeing this scene actually and thouht come on that cannot be it, I suppose they didn't show it because of the rating PG13, I think that is what JC said. I heard that Avatar should stay in theaters for quite a while, so that should delay the release date again. Somebody posted April 16, but I suppose that is only for the US market.

Hehe yeah, the PG13 would make sense. The scence will probably come as a bonus in the dvd I guess, so it's just a matter of w8ing :) Saw u updated the blog, nice.. curious data about Zoe

I take you've checked the Avatar soundtrack? It's a must :)
